About

Founded in 1949, the North Alabama Industrial Development Association, or NAIDA, is one of the oldest regional economic development organizations in the United States.

NAIDA represents 13 counties within the North Alabama region — all of which are served by the distributors of TVA electric power.

When NAIDA began, North Alabama was known for its agricultural roots and had few industrial employment opportunities for its residents. As of 2016, more than 1,200 manufacturing facilities from an array of industries thrive in the area. Currently, North Alabama offers industrial employment in the following sectors: advanced manufacturing, aerospace/defense, automotive, bio-tech, chemical, metal working, plastics, and woodworking.

Through the cohesive collaboration of the leaders in North Alabama for more than 50 years, NAIDA has matured into a multifaceted development association that has the experience to successfully assist companies and site location consultants with projects of any size. Companies that NAIDA has assisted include:

  • BOCAR Group
  • Carpenter Technology Corporation
  • USG Interiors, Inc.
